Menlo Park, California - May 15, 2007 - Nangate Inc., a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software and Raza Microelectronics, Inc. (RMI(R)), a leading supplier of processors and solutions for communications and consumer applications, today announced collaboration on a new methodology that greatly improves and guarantees accuracy of standard-cell libraries.

The Design Audit methodology enables both validation and tuning of timing and noise models to ensure perfect correlation between SPICE simulations of design-specific critical timing paths and sign-off Static Timing Analysis (STA) tools.

New library modeling standards such as CCS and ECSM are important for success in advanced process nodes," said Ole Christian Andersen, CEO of Nangate. "However, for our customers it is equally important to make sure that the desired level of accuracy is obtained in each case. This task is inherently design-specific and the only way to be certain that your library is accurate is to use characterization tools that can SPICE the critical paths of your specific design and validate these against your sign-off STA tool."

Nangate's characterization tool is capable of evaluating the quality of any standard-cell library against an actual design or a series of test circuits. The STA tool is directed to extract the N-worst critical paths from the design and output the corresponding SPICE netlists. The appropriate stimuli are added and the extracted paths are simulated with SPICE and correlated with the STA report. The resulting Nangate comparison report highlights any discrepancies that require further calibration and characterization.

The library verification and correlation technology is available in Nangate Design AuditTM. and as an add-on option to the Nangate Library CharacterizerTM. The first release supports HSPICE(R), the gold standard for accurate circuit simulation and PrimeTime-SI(R), the gold standard for comprehensive sign-off solutions, both from Synopsys.

Availability and Pricing
Nangate Design Audit and the Library CharacterizerTM platform are available immediately and can be licensed in several packages with a yearly license price starting at $60,000.
